  •  More than 100 volunteers are now involved with Pagdandi. 
  •  Establishing ‘Kitaab Ghar’ within the community- this includes the collection of more than 700 books donated by volunteers and friends of Pagdandi (Schools, Corporate Houses, Institutions and Individual Volunteers).
  • Excursion Trip- a day long excursion trip to three points of interest for 100 children from the community. More than 25 volunteers and Swechha facilitators accompanied the children to Rail Museum, Dolls Museum and the National Museum of Natural History.
  • Pagdandi Festival- more than 200 children participated in the three day festival held at the SSS Auditorium in JNU, New Delhi. Performances by students and exhibitions were attended by parents, volunteers and the media. Pottery Workshops, Photography Workshop, Puppetry Workshops too were held during these three days for the children.
  • Remedial Classes- 7 remedial sessions held for children in smaller groups until the last week of June.
  • RTE Campaign- a rigorous school enrollment campaign initiated and implemented by college volunteers after the notification of the RTE Act by the government. 37 children who were out of school have been enrolled in age-appropriate classes in conveniently located schools close to the community.
  • Suman, a bright student of Pagdandi has been appointed as the Local Coordinator.
  • Local Coordinator, Suman attended a Life Skills Teachers Training Program organized by Youth Reach in April 2010.
  •  Pagdandi website (http://www.pagdandi.weebly.com/) launched by one of our Volunteer, Andreas. 
  • Parents of Pagdandi students have given motivational and encouraging feedback for the program. They have offered help as and when required by Swechha team members
  • Youthreach, an associate organization has helped us with:
(a) Tutorial material on Life Skills and Adolescent Reproductive Health & Life Skills 
(b) It invited senior students of Pagdandi to be a part of Life Skills Teachers Training Program which was held in April 2010.Suman took part in it. 
(c) Offering employment opportunities. One of the youth have been selected for Training at Taj PalaceTwo youth from the community have been enrolled at NIIT for Retail Management Course (November 2010). At the end of  which they will be assisted with Job Hunt. 

  • Zyanya Kortooms-Breuer is studying Environment and Ecology from the University of Washington and is also a professional Salsa dancer. She runs a Salsa learning centre for the under privileged back in Seattle has raised a sum of US D 550 towards Summer Special in Pagdandi Program.
